  • Swan River Daisies are indigenous to central Australia. They prefer light to medium soil in a sunny area yet can tolerate shadue. They are a very hardy, annual (perennial) flowering plant, frost and drought resistant, and will grow to a height of 0.2m and spread to 0.3m. Their flowers bloom in white, blue, or pink.

Green Salad Bowl Lettuce (Lactuca sativa) is a loose-leaf hardy annual ‘cut and come again’ variety of lettuce, this means you can pick individual leaves and the lettuce plant will continue to grow.

Lettuce can be grown year-round in most climates. Avoid planting in extremely hot or cold weather which can affect germination and growth.

Wild rocket (Diplotaxis tenuifolia) is a hardy perennial plant growing to 40cm. Plants have an upright habit and are grown for their deeply serrated leaves which have a strong peppery flavour similar to rocket but far more pungent.

Wild rocket is most commonly used as a salad green but can also be used cooked; makes an excellent addition to stir fries. Very popular in Italian cuisine.

Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla L.) is a European herb that forms daisy-like flowers with white petals surrounding a yellow center. It boast fragrant flowers and grows quickly- up to to 2f tall (reaching full bloom within about 10 weeks).

Chamomile is a well-known medicinal plant species from the Asteraceae family often referred to as the “star among medicinal species," and is used for herbal remedies, beverages, and skin care products, and is best planted in the spring in full sun to partial shade.

Parsley A fresh, vibrant herb that adds brightness to any dish. Easy to grow indoors or out, parsley thrives with regular watering and partial sun.

Oregano Earthy, fragrant, and full of flavour. Oregano loves warm sunshine and well-drained soil — perfect for your home garden or kitchen windowsill.

Thyme A hardy, aromatic herb that grows into a gentle, trailing plant. Thyme enjoys full sun and is wonderfully low-maintenance.

Alyssum is native to Europe, Asia, and North Africa. They are a very hardy annual (perennial) plant, tolerating heat and drought, however, they are not frost-tolerant. They will grow up to 0.1m producing clusters of tiny flowers and can bloom in pink, salmon, purple, white, and yellow. They are best planted in spring in well-drained soil with moderate moisture. Cut back spent flowers to encourage reblooming.

Pink Ageratum is native to Mexico and North America. They are a half-hardy annual (perennial) flowering plant. Best planted in spring with full sun to partial shade, in well-drained soil. They produce fluffy pink flowers that will bloom throughout summer and grow up to 0.3m tall. Keep well-watered and encourage bushy growth by pinching out the first buds. Deadhead spent flowers to prolong flowering.

  • Bees are an important part of our everyday life. They produce delicious honey for our pleasure that hosts antibacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory qualities, and they pollinate approximately 30% of our food crops and 90% of our wild plants. Bees play a vital role in preserving biodiversity and ecosystem health. Without bees, many ecosystems will be altered and no longer exist.

Unfortunately, bee diversity and populations are threatened due to the destruction of their natural habitats, bee disease and pests, agricultural chemicals, and a decline in commercial beekeeping.

How to help our bees from becoming extinct

    · Stop using chemical insecticides & herbicides and replace them with natural alternatives.

    · Plant ‘bee-friendly’ gardens with various native plants and pollen-rich flowers. Diversity is the key, aim for flowers to bloom at different times of the year.

    · Let your garden get a little messy…A few weeds and wildflowers offer more biodiversity so our bees can forage.

    · Only source local honey and support our important beekeeping industry.

  • Tasmania and Western Australia have strict quarantine rules and can incur fines upon inspection for anything that may pose a potential biosecurity threat. Seeded paper is prohibited.

We do not recommend sending seed products internationally, as customs and quarantine laws vary from country to country and seeds may pose an ecological threat to the importing country.

Laura Luke ships from New South Wales in Australia, so we do not recommend that customers from these states or outside Australia purchase seeded paper products. Laura Luke is not liable for quarantine fees or penalties customers may incur. You may prefer to purchase one of our standard greeting cards instead.
