ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hi! I’m Laura Luke. For many years, I’ve been mesmerised by the effortless beauty of pencil art, always in awe of how little lines of graphite can evoke curiosity and wonder, evolving into artwork as complex and detailed as life itself.

As a child, I travelled a lot with my parents. They would fill my backpack with paper and pencils to keep me entertained on long journeys. From that, I always felt like art connected me to home and family. It became a comfort; no matter where I went, I could express myself through art. Now, it goes beyond that; in essence, it is who I am.

Drawing is more than lines on paper; it’s a celebration that taps into a profound wisdom rooted in love. It is an art form that encourages connection - with oneself, others, and the natural world.

My muse? The rhythmic dance of nature's mysteries, both bold and intricate. Through my work, I capture these details by playing with light and shadow, focusing on intricate details to bring my art to life.

Animals take centre stage in my illustrations. Through their portrayal, I seek to illuminate the essence of human existence.

My creative journey extends beyond the pencil. Photography and Photoshop compositing have become my canvas, where I can incorporate whimsical and imaginative elements into truly unique artworks.

Guided by innate beauty, my artwork transforms inner spaces into cherished homes.
